Think Before You Act

Yesterday I warned about thinking before speaking, today I share a tale that is in many ways similar but with a little twist and message. 

I will never forget the day I met for the first time Harry, a small boy with an impish sense of humour. 

He was trying to reach up to and ring a doorbell when I was passing him. He had tried about three times to jump up and reach the bell, each time missing it. 

After watching his efforts as I approached the spot where he was, I reached over and pressed the bell twice a good solid ring. 

Crouching down to Harry's level I smiled and said to him, "What now little man?"

To which Harry replied, "I don't know about you mister, but I am running."

I, after all those years, have never ever learned to think things through before opening my mouth, or offering a helping hand and over the years both have often brought me into difficulty. You would think we would learn. Thank goodness I was a faster runner than he was.

A Penny for your Thoughts A young Scottish lad and lass were sitting on a low stone wall, holding hands, gazing out over the loch. For several minutes they sat silently. You Want to be a Butterfly? I remember one day out walking. it was before I had my apple watch and I was wearing this little watch, not a costly thing at all, the strap was made of rubber. It was good when running, and walking light in weight and not accurate enough to have me trying to push to beat a deadline. It did not have any numerals on its face.
